Located completely aft on Deck 17 affording wonderful wake views is another new restaurant concept for Princess Cruises. In partnership with artist Romero Britto, this intimate venue will offer an exceptional menu created by Chef Rudi. This modern sushi bar, adjacent to the heart of the Piazza, offers spectacular views from the Sphere along with a vast array of sushi and sashimi specialties. Feel The Love With Family And Friends

For vacationers who like a lot of choice when they travel, whether it be for dining, drinking or entertainment, it'll no doubt be the best Princess ship yet. For those who prefer an older-style, more intimate Princess experience, it might be a ship to skip. And while the Signature Lounge is logically nestled among the biggest suites on Deck 16, it's relatively modest in size and not well tied into the suites around it. While you'll need a suite keycard to get into the lounge, the suites themselves are not within a keycard-access-only area and thus can be reached by any passenger on the ship — a turn-off to privacy-seeking suite guests.

A second, next-generation Sphere class ship is also on order, slated to be delivered by Fincantieri in spring 2025. Inaugural 2024 Sun Princess cruises to the Mediterranean and Europe are currently on sale, and Caribbean voyages will go on sale April 19, 2023. Older kids and teens aboard Sun Princess are given their own dedicated clubs and rooms, and kids (and adults) will no doubt love the new Park19 activity zone on Deck 19 aft.

The Views Revolve Around You

Lido Deck (deck 17) houses 3 Swimming Pools (1 forward + 2 midship) and a total of 4 Jacuzzies/whirlpool hot tubs (2 forward + 2 midship) which are served by 3 Poolside Bars/open-air venues for fast food and beverages (1 forward + 2 midship). Follows the complete list of Sun Princess lounges, clubs, and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults. As Princess SPHERE ships' coordinating architecture company Fincantieri contracted TDoS/Tillberg Design of Sweden (1964-founded company specializing in cruise ship design as well as hospitality projects). TDoS was contracted to provide an architecture based on light interiors and transparency. Curiously, the ever-first Atrium (midship-positioned open-floor designed area) on a cruise ship (1969-built Sea Venture) was designed by Robert Tillberg. Reserve Collection, debuting on Sun Princess®, includes premium location Mini-Suites and Cabanas, plus exclusive access to a private restaurant and additional luxuries.

Adjacent to The Dome are lined up the fast food venues Lido Slice (pizza), Lido Tacos, Lido Grill, Lido Greens (salads) and Lido Bar. The 2024-built Sun Princess cruise ship is the first of two SPHERE class vessels currently under construction at Fincantieri's yard in Monfalcone Italy. Princess' SPHERE class represents the fleet's first dual-fuel (MDO and LNG) powered ships.

This is the third ship to be honored with the Sun Princess name, adding to the legacy of the first ship sailing from 1974 to 1988 and the second ship sailing from 1995 to 2020. At that time, she had the largest number of balcony cabins, and the cruise line’s first 24-hour cafe. Guests can also expect the line’s signature Lotus Spa, with its inviting thermal suite; a Lotus Salon; a fitness center; kids’ facilities for younger children, tweens and teens; and the family-friendly Park19. The latter space was not yet open for our voyage, but soon all ages will be able to enjoy a challenging ropes course, a splash zone, a Rollglider suspended rail ride and more.

Sun Princess Enhances its Connection With the Sea

Another Princess staple, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, has been re-imagined on Sun Princess. This modern restaurant features a new layout and elegant decor with intimate bistro-style nooks. It offers a sophisticated yet cozy and approachable dining experience for groups of various sizes.

Get ready for the greatest entertainment under the Sun.

Unwind inside with a separate sitting area with sofa bed and premium bathroom amenities. In addition to the great amenities found in all Cabana Mini-Suites, you will receive Reserve Collection upgrades, including access to the Reserve Collection Restaurant. Previously known as the Club Class, guests booked in the most ideally located mini-suites and cabana staterooms can access an exclusive restaurant as well, the Reserve Collection Restaurant. This private restaurant serves an elevated version of the main dining room menu, with a few distinct selections each night.

Other small changes aboard Sun Princess are still present, including the renaming of Kai Sushi by Makoto to Makoto Ocean -- a last-minute change that will require the ship's signage to be swapped out at some point. Until then, the venue is referred to by both terms depending on which source you read (the website, deck plan or Princess Patter). Windows grace nearly every public room, flooding them with natural light and sea views that are both appreciated and, these days, increasingly rare on big ships that tend to be quite inward-facing.

For the first time since the 1990s, Princess has entirely re-thought its cabin design and layout. And while cabins on Sun Princess share some structural similarities with Carnival's Excel-class ships (think Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee), fittings, fixtures and soft furnishings are all different and elevated. The lower level (deck 5) consists of Relax Room, Treatment Rooms (for massages), Showers and Changing Rooms (male/female). On Lido Deck (deck 17) are the ship's swimming pools and outdoor Jacuzzies/whirlpools with a spacious sundeck served by 3 Poolside Bars (open-air venues for fast food and beverages) - 1 forward (Sea View Bar) + 2 midship (Coffee & Cones, THE MIX).

One of the more interesting things Princess has done with Sun Princess is to completely reimagine the dining experience in a subtle but meaningful way. Timeless classics like The Catch by Rudi, Crown Grill, Sabatini’s, and Alfredo’s Pizzeria haven’t been forgotten and are better than ever, with the latter featuring a wood-fired pizza oven and new alfresco seating area. There’s also a new spot for casual bites, plus a revamped World Fresh Marketplace. Sun Princess will be a game changer for the line – bigger, better and brimming with new features, so no matter what you love, you’ll find it on this revolutionary new ship. It will also be the line’s first Sphere-Class ship and the largest in the Princess fleet when it sets sail in March 2024.

Sun Princess also has several new cabin classes, including a row of Cabana mini-suites on Deck 9 that have their own private terrace with sun loungers and a hot tub. If you’re travelling with a large enough group, you can book out all of these rooms and make this space your own. The ship has a 2-level Signature Lounge (aka Suite Lounge) exclusive to Suite passengers. The Suite Lounge (aft on decks 15-16) provides complimentary snacks and beverages, comfortable seating, restrooms, and is directly accessed by two lifts/elevators. The entertainment offerings on board the Sun Princess are just as innovative and thoughtfully designed as the ship itself. In fact, we're transforming the future of entertainment not just at sea, but anywhere.

An extension of the Eatery, there are additional quick service stations outside on the Deck 9 promenade. Offering menu items similar to Lido Eats up on the pool deck, the Promenade features dining stations and a bar on each side of the ship. A first for Princess Cruises, the Horizons Dining Room is a stunning three-story venue.
